New Club Program
In the interests of structured progression for all our gymnasts we have recently taken the decision to move all classes away from the Club Grades and Award system and on to the USA Gymnastics Junior Olympic Programs.
Junior Olympic gymnastics is a competitive program run by USA Gymnastics (the governing body for gymnastics in the US).
This Program consists of 10 levels and is designed to prepare gymnasts in an achievement-orientated program of basic skills and progressions at the introductory/recreational levels through to the higher levels where emphasis is on execution and artistic performance. It culminates at Level 10 for Advanced Jr. Olympic Athlete and USA National Championships. Level one is the introductory level with the most basic requirements and skills. Gymnasts progress at their own pace, and in all programs gymnasts must achieve a minimum score in competition in order to progress to the next level.
The Junior Olympic program was developed with the belief that all athletes, regardless of their potential, must have a solid foundation of basic skills in order to advance safely. The program allows the gymnast to advance at their own pace, competing at more than one level in a year, if they choose.
All coaches received the full Program booklets and started implementing the training techniques in class from Sunday 26th October 2008.
The full program is available for purchase from the USA Gymnastics site but we have also made small extractions available to our Club members on the following links. Please note that due to copyright issues these extractions must not be circulated or re-produced to non-Club members.
(Please be patient as these files load - they are quite large)
