CLUB PROGRAM

USA Gymnastics Level Progression

In October 2008 we moved the Club onto the USA Gymnastics program for both males and females.  The details of skills taught at each level is available from this site and we recommend downloading and printing the appropriate Level for your child to review (there are excellent diagrams of each apparatus requirements).

To move from one Level to the next a gymnast must participate in a full apparatus competition (in order to be judged) and score a minimum of 75% on each of the 4 apparatus.

It is not possible to progress to the next level if a gymnast has not passed on one or two of the apparatus.  Each level is progressive and builds on the skills gained in the previous level.  If a gymnast cannot competently master the skills at a lower level they will struggle and become de-motivated at a higher level.

A gymnast generally spends an entire academic year within one level however may progress within that year if they achieve all the required skills and participate in a Full Apparatus competition (Inter-Club and/or June).

In the interests of all the Level 1 and 2 gymnasts we also offer 2 opportunities over the academic year for gymnasts to progress outside of the formal competitions as Inter-Club comps are generally only Level 3+.

We conduct formal assessments on 2 Fridays (see competiton schedule) at a cost of 50Dhs each.  Assessment requests must be received in writing (via email) 2 weeks prior to the date.
